Hervé's Trio
Trio by Hervé Lescombes, Founder & Fifth-Generation Winemaker
631 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon
Heritage Rosé
631 Signature Chenin Blanc
I look forward to spending quality time with friends and family to enjoy lively conversation, delicious food and beautiful wine. I am proud of all the wines that my family produces, so it was very difficult to pick my top three wines for celebrations.
My first pick is our 631 Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a great choice for pairing with a variety of food, and there is a consistently high quality in both the vineyard and winery craftsmanship. My second pick is our Heritage Rosé. It’s light and dry with plenty of fresh fruit. It’s made in a traditional french-style that reminds me of some of the wines my family used to make in France and Algeria. For my third pick, I chose our 631 Chenin Blanc because like our Cabernet, it is consistently great quality and grows very hardy in our vineyard. In addition, it’s a wine that most people would enjoy, and it’s very easy to pair with different foods.
Hervé Lescombes, Founder of Lescombes Family Vineyards and fifth generation winemaker, was born in George Clemenceau, Algeria. He moved to France in 1962 during the Algerian Revolution. Herve started the successful Domaine de Perignon Winery in Burgundy, France. He was 29 years old when he brought his family to the U.S. to begin making wine in southern New Mexico USA. Hervé chose southern New Mexico USA for wine grape cultivation because of its similarity to the North African landscape that he grew up in as well as the Argentinian terrior where he visited and worked for a short time. He planted his first vines in New Mexico USA in 1981.The first Lescombes New Mexico USA vintage was released in 1984.
